Fresh Music Thursday - The Kick Off!

It's Fresh Music Thursday!   Gabe here. This will be a new weekly series on the Honey Heart Blog - and today is the kick off.

Mary & I love music, so I thought I would share what we are currently "spinning" as the cool kids say.

Perhaps you're thinking, "It should be Fresh Music Monday."  Well, perhaps it should.

However, recently coming off March Madness, which consists of "Sweet Sixteen", "Elite Eight", "Final Four", and "Diaper dandies", it leaves me a bit weary of alliteration.

So, Fresh Music Thursday it is.

So, on to the Music...

We found the band Lake Street Dive not long ago, and I absolutely love their sound. The combo of the amazing stand up bassist Bridget Kearney and the incredible vocals of Rachael Price are what sets this band off.  Check them out...

So we would be lying if we didn't listen to a little Trouble as we gear up on wedding days. But we really like this version...

Another artist I really enjoy these days is Sean Rowe.  I heard his song Old Shoes on an episode of Parenthood, so I tracked him down after I stopped blubbering like a baby after the episode.  His album The Salesman and the Shark is folksy and soulful.  Check it out.

See if you can listen to this song without getting emotional.  I bet not...

And, finally, we've been listening to The Lumineers quite a bit lately.  We're loving their sound!  It's great to listen to while driving around town.

Enjoy your Thursday, friends & enjoy the Derby on Saturday!
