Jennifer and Donny: Lexington Wedding Photography

Before her wedding, the last time I saw Jennifer was at our high school graduation in 2002.  Or maybe it was the last day of school in French class.  The last time I saw Jennifer's mom, Belinda, was just last year.  Belinda, owner of The Needle's Eye and Etcetera, altered my wedding dress.  And my sister's wedding dress for that matter.  She did an amazing job.  Tailoring is one of those crafts that I know nothing about.  So when I told Belinda I wanted a sweetheart neckline I had no idea how that was to be accomplished but when I came back for a fitting, viola!  Impressive. I was so excited when I saw Jennifer's inquiry for her wedding.  It has been wonderful catching up with you, Jennifer.  You and Donny a wonderful couple.  Thanks for including Gabe and I on your wedding day.  We had a blast with your friends and family and felt right at home!

The letter Donny is reading is from his best friend, currently serving on Kuwait.

Matt and Becca

There comes a time when we all (us photographers) have to step in front of the lens.  It may be for our website or perhaps Mom is hollering for an updated picture.  It was time for Matt and Becca to do just that.  Gabe and I went to school with these two and now we are in the wedding business together.  Matt launched an "about me" section for his website this winter and I was happy to take these pictures for he and Becca.  I love the practice in the winter, in the snow no less!  I am so pleased with the way these look!  I am trying a new blogging look/picture layout: what do you think?

Dear Friends

I have some of the best friends ever. I used to walk around the halls of my high school, as a freshman, and wish for a close group of girls to laugh with and confide in.  And, of course, this group of friends had to set me up with my crush and share clothes with me.  By the end of high school, I had found those girls.  (PS - I didn't end up having a boyfriend in high school but I knew these ladies were my wing-women.)   I was so blessed.  The same thing happened in college.  I went away, down the road to a small school, and hoped I'd make those long-lasting friendships everyone seems to have in college and beyond.  I didn't need a lot of friends; just a few to make it through late-night studying, break ups, and the beginning of my coffee addiction with.  I don't see or talk to every friend from high school or college but there are a few that still very near and dear to my heart.  And now, five years later, I have a few more girls who I love sharing life with.  I have been so blessed.  I have never had to go through a season (good or bad) alone. One of these friends is Lizbeth.  She is below with her adorable daughter, Ada.

Thanks, dear friends, whether you live in Georgia, Texas, New York, New Hampshire or down the road.  Love you.

FYI - I am afraid this note makes me sound like I am dying.  I'm not.

Baby Bella

Every time Gabe and Mark's (Bella's dad) eyes meet across a room, they run towards one another and land in a HUGE man hug.  It's a little scary but who doesn't love a hug.  Gabe and Mark grew up together in youth group and have been close ever since.   Now Mark is a dad.  A darn good one too.  We have loved getting to know Jeanette too, and now Bella!
