Flowers

I love fresh cut flowers.  I know they are only temporary but there is something about a burst of living color in the middle of a room, especially my needs-to-be-cleaned-up kitchen, and especially in winter.  This brings me the lovely bouquet featured below.  I had the pleasure of meeting Jeanie Gorell at the KY Bride Bridal Show and she does beautiful floral work.  She was kind enough to give me a bouquet at the end of show.  It was lovely!  Make sure to check her out!

In the Family

Lately, my nephews are going through a guitar phase.  Now, I gave the guitar a shot about 12 years ago, hoping to channel my inner Joan Baez or Jewel.  It didn't work our for me.  The recipe of strumming, chords and rhythm required to play was not something I could concoct.    But guess who plays?  Uncle Gabe!  Whenever my nephews see Gabe, they run up to him and scream "Teach me the guitar!"  Gabe obliges.  Nathan, age eight, wants to play the electric.  Noah, age three, has the desire to play the bass.  He tried to grab Gabe's bass the other day.  Luckily, the thing was so heavy he didn't get very far.  It's strings are as big as his fingers!  So they will begin with the good old acoustic.

Katie and Eric

I have known Katie since our preteen days.  Our families go way back.  We went to same church when we were little, our brothers are good friends, and our moms play Bunco together.  Actually, Katie and I have been grafted into the Bunco group as "the daughters that are now grown" and we have a grand old time with older, wiser, dice throwing companions/moms.  Katie's brother is getting married this year as well, but Gabe and I aren't able to shoot his wedding.  I am so glad we had Katie's date open! These two met in college a couple years ago and have been dating long distance for most of their relationship.  She is here and he is in Illinois.  Six hours away.  Golly, that would be tough.  While we were shooting I commented on how happy, relaxed and "in-love" their pictures looked.  Katie replied, "Well, it helps that we only get to see each other once a month so we are pretty excited to be together right now!"  Well, yay for absence making the heart grow fonder because these photos look fabulous!

Enjoy!

Not sure what was happening here, but they look so darn cute I thought it was blog worthy.

This one is my fav!

High five for marriage!

My Love

It's my first Vday as the Mrs. For the longest time I thought I'd never have a Valentine.  I was okay on my own, surrounded by wonderful friends and family.  I even started a business.  Then I met him almost two years ago.  From our first date I knew he was someone I needed to hold on to.  He is funny, smart, so sweet, and the most handsome man.  We fell in love and now we are married.  I have never been happier.

I love you Gabriel.  Happy first Valentines.

This is the first picture I ever took of Gabe.  It was taken with the Holga he gave me shortly after we started dating.

Our first picture together.  Aww.

:)  See what I mean about him being the most handsome man?

Dallyce and Matt: Part Two

Note about the portraits: I just going to type it: Matt and Dallyce are a beautiful couple.  They photograph so well.  So well in fact that I have quite the collection of Dallyce/Matt portraits.  We ended up with a great mix of indoor and outdoor shots.  I was afraid we wouldn't be able to go outside because it was cold but New Year's ended up being quite mild.  All that to say, Matt and Dallyce were troopers with all these photos.  I hope it was worth it to you guys.  It was to us!

Note about the reception:

This was such a fun party.  Dallyce and Matt's reception was held at The Mansion at Marriott Griffin Gate.  The food was fabulous and the venue was perfect for a New Year's Eve party.  Everyone was in such high spirits!  There was a lot of dancing, including a bit of moving around by yours truly.  Gabe took the liberty of photographing it!  Thanks, hun.

Dallyce and Matt: You are a great couple and we wish you the very best!

She is so pretty!

Matt's looking good too.

Bride's cake by Tinkers Cake Shop.  Delicious as always.

At one point, close to midnight, Dallyce pulled me out onto the dance floor and told me to enjoy the party too and started dancing with me.  So sweet.

Before I knew it I was dancing with Dallyce's dad! He was quite the dancer.  I could hardly keep up.  Boy, do I look awkward.

I love this picture below.  I think the lady on the left just saw my dance moves.

Midnight!
