Heather and Jack

I’ve never shot in the snow and I was tempted not to this past Saturday.  The alarm went off and my bed seemed warmer, Gabe seemed cuddlier (if that is possible), and the bedroom seemed colder.  I managed to pull myself out of bed and look out the window.  Lots of snow and it was still falling.  We should stay in.  But the still small photographer voice inside of me said, “Gabe’s good at driving in snow and it will be fun and the pictures will be so pretty.”  So we met Jack and Heather and the small voice was right!  It was wet and cold and so worth it.  It snowed through the entire shoot and even warmed up a bit. At the end I was thanking them for coming all the way on such a wintry day and a ton of snow feel right on my head and camera.  The still small photography voice whispered, “You’re so uncool.” Heather and Jack Nicholson: Can’t wait for part two of the shoot and you guys rocked it out.

Stephanie and Adam: Getting Ready and Their Wedding Party

Love the shoes and the dress!  Gabe stuck with the guys and did a wonderful job.

Love all the ladies around Stephanie.  The more bridesmaids, the better!

As I was going through the images, I stumbled upon this little beauty that Gabe grabbed.  It could be titled "Little Guy's POV or "How Can I Get Up There With All The Ladies Like Adam."

We scouted locations the day before the wedding and found this train.  Perfect!

Emma and Family

I went into this business as a wedding photographer, but I must say, I am loving these kids and family shoots!  Lately, I have been working with the the greatest parents and the cutest kiddos you can imagine.  Elizabeth (Emma's mom) was the Matron of Honor in Casey and Greg's wedding.  It was great to see her again!  Hes family below is a perfect example of why I enjoy these sessions; every one is unpredictably different and I love the challenge of capturing each family dynamic.  Little Emma is just four years old and she was freezing during the shoot.  I think all of us were wondering if we'd get any shots before she turned into a little Popsicle.  We (Gabe came along for this one) sure did!  Even though it was chilly Emma powered through and became her cute, little self.  The lollipop probably helped.

An "I'm getting cold" moment.

An "Okay, now I'm really cold" moment.

Stephanie and Adam: Wedding Preview

Gabe was so excited when he heard we were shooting this wedding.  He and Adam were on the same hall in college.  I really enjoyed working with Adam and Stephanie, especially after reviewing their pictures for this preview.  I love some of these shoots.  We went to a bunch of locations and it was worth it.  Stephanie was a photography minor in college and knew she wanted to go to all these paces for portraits and it paid off! Scroll down if you are here for Michael and Joe's senior shoots.

I am out!  I am making Joy the Baker's Double Chocolate Devil's Food and Raspberry cake for tomorrow.  Yum!  Happy Thanksgiving!
