Ryan, Bridgette, and Anna: Our Friends

Gabe and I love this little family.  They are close friends of ours and they are moving away soon to start a church.   Gabe and Ryan survived Air Force boot camp together two years ago and we shot their wedding a year and half ago.  Now, before they hit the road, we wanted to do a photo shoot with their sweet baby.  Anna might be the cutest little girl EVER.  She has the thickest, darkest baby hair I've ever seen.  It is gorgeous.  Ryan and Bridgette are the best parents too.  We love you guys! Have a great Thursday.  Today is Gabe's last day of classes.  EVER.  He is completing his masters this week before we travel west for our California wedding.  To celebrate, I am making chicken alfredo tonight.  Hopefully it will be a celebration.  I've never made this dish (Gabe's favorite) before.  I found the recipe on my phone app, All Recipes.

Practice Makes Perfect...one of these days.

It's true.  You have to practice to get better at anything.  This little truth lays claim to many areas of my life: frying eggs, downward facing dogs, Donkey Kong, and especially photography.  I can't just let my camera get dusty.  Especially as wedding season kicks into high gear.  Plus,  I love experimenting with new light and angles.  I got a chance to do so a few weeks ago. I am part of a group of Kentucky photographers who get together once a month to chat about our businesses and share experiences with one another.  Last month, we had a practice shoot.  Susannah was gracious enough to contact several couples who were willing to model for us.

Here are a few of my shots.

Sunny Day Shoot with Henry: Lexington Children's Photography

It has been quite a week!  I can't believe I actually changed the name of my business.  We have received great feedback from so many of you.  Thank you so much.  Your kind words have made me so thankful for this job.  We have even more in store!  Along with our new brand we have new packaging and products coming in the next few months that are going to make the HHP experience even better.  When I started the business it was all I could do to just shoot and edit.  Now we are taking more time to be something more than a shooting and editing machine and I love it.  Thanks again, especially to all my brides, grooms, families, and even babies for your support! Speaking of babies, take a look at Henry.  So adorable!

Tornado Warnings: A Family Photo Shoot in Louisville

Melissa (the lovely lady below in pink) and I had been trying to set up a shoot for a almost a year.  A couple Saturdays ago all her family members' schedules finally aligned...and it was raining.  And thundering.  And tornadoing.  I just made that word up I believe.  However, a pavilion and and intermittent pauses in the rain saved the day.  I think we came away some amazing family pictures.  Thanks Melissa!

Jennifer and Dereck: Lexington Wedding Photography

With all this Honey Heart talk I haven't had a lot of time for pictures the last couple days.  Until now.  And it's all about the pictures, right?  I have a brand new 35mm lens to prove that. An awesome bride of mine, Joy, referred Jennifer to me few months ago and I am so grateful she did.  Not only grateful for the wedding itself, but for the opportunity to work with Jennifer's wonderful family.  Jennifer and Dereck had a morning wedding and lunch reception.  It was perfect!  Gabe and I shot in the morning, breakfasted at Alfalfa, and had the rest of the day free.

Have a great Wednesday.  I just finished making a spaghetti dinner in the crock pot.  I love that crock pot.  They are magical.
